Publisher's stock jumps off the back of Irrational Games closure.
Take-Two Interactive has assured the world at large that there's plenty of life left in the Bioshock franchise, despite the closure of Irrational Games earlier this week.
8CN: Ken Levine, director of both Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite, and head of Irrational Games, recently announced that he will be closing down Irrational Games and starting a new, smaller team with about 15 employees. Unfortunately, this means that over 100 Irrational employees are now out of a job. According to 2K Games, though, the Bioshock franchise will at least live on. But is this good news?
Early this week; Ken Levine announced that he is shutting down Irrational Games while going off to start a new company with 15 other soon to be former employees. The news took the gaming world by surprise while also reigniting the debate about the industries exploitative practices. This week the team introduced a new cast and team member! Then they discussed a bunch of new release dates, the 1080p vs 720p controversy, Sonys PS4 sales numbers, Wolfenstein and Doom, and Atlus coming back from the grave! They also spent a lot of time discussing the sudden death of Irrational Games as we know it.
